The Island of Rhodes has been a popular holiday destination since the early 1960's and the village of Lindos has been one of its prized holiday locations. The village is amazingly pretty with whitewashes cubic houses clinging to the hillside, along with a number of beautiful sandy bays with clear blue seas that makes Lindos a village that people return to year after year. The winding streets of the village a great fun to explore, find yourself a quiet bar to enjoy a relaxing drink and then search out one of many restaurants to enjoy a lunchtime snack or a delightful evening meal. Many of the restaurants in Lindos serve good quality food at sensible prices and offer amazing views from small romantic roof terraces. The main beach is a sweep of golden soft sand with the normal tourist facilities, along with a number of Greek Tavernas overlooking the sands where you can enjoy some light refreshments or a nice fish lunch. Then the smaller bay of St. Paul's over the back side of Lindos is worth checking out, sandy islets amongst the rocks make this a lovely place to spend the day. Great snorkelling here in the beautiful aquamarine sea. At night the village comes alive with many cafe's and bars to choose from, relaxed chilled out bars playing Ibiza style sounds or the more lively with DJ's playing all the new up to date music, The choice is yours. To the south of Lindos the ever more popular resort of Pefkos is a nice alternative if your looking for a quiet beach holiday resort. The accommodation rates are lower than Lindos and the resort offer a lovely stretch of golden sand with good safe swimming, this area is ideal for a family holiday or for couples looking for a quiet spot with plenty on your doorstep. Lindos has managed to retain the feel of a real Greek village and still offer the modern day visitor all its creature comforts.
